# Live video feeds for the requested regions

This catalogue now targets Italy’s coast and Croatia’s coast. It contains 13 direct HLS feeds that were advancing when checked on 29 October 2026. It replaces the earlier Great Britain starter set.

## Verification

For each feed, the HLS playlist was fetched twice about 12 seconds apart. A feed was included only when it returned segment entries, had no `#EXT-X-ENDLIST` marker, and its media sequence or segment list advanced between checks. This verifies a live playlist, not the contents of every video frame; a feed can still become frozen or unavailable later.

## Coverage gap: French Alps

OpenCCTV’s current France video subset reports five HLS and two MJPEG entries, none in the Alps. The Alpine entries found in the directory are provider pages or embeds, so they are not included as direct video URLs. I have not mislabeled those as live video.

## France source guide

The local catalogue contains five France entries, all outside the Alps (Morbihan, Wimereux, Gravelines, and Sainte-Marguerite-sur-Mer). The app now includes a France sources section with links to relevant official pages:

- Pelvoux-Vallouise / Écrins: the official tourism site embeds Vision-Environnement camera players. The Pelvoux player is explicitly marked LIVE and offers video playback: https://www.vision-environnement.com/live/player/pelvoux20.php
- Official Écrins live page, with several camera embeds: https://www.paysdesecrins.com/live/
- Alpes-Isère directory: 46 regional camera listings, but listings can be either video or still-image cameras: https://www.alpes-isere.com/webcams/
- Mont Blanc Natural Resort: its camera listing exposes periodic image previews and update times, so those have not been added as continuous video feeds: https://www.montblancnaturalresort.com/fr/webcam

The Pelvoux provider players are offered through the official Écrins page. The app embeds those published player pages after the user selects a camera; it does not extract the provider’s internal stream URLs. The provider receives the video request and can see the viewer’s IP address.

### Écrins live players on the map

Four Pelvoux-Vallouise player pages published by Vision-Environnement are listed at one grouped map pin and embedded in the main player after selection. The shared map coordinates identify the resort area, not surveyed camera locations. The selector switches between Sommet de la Crête, Mi-station, Front de neige, and Espace nordique de Vallouise. On 29 October 2026, Mi-station and Front de neige showed live video; Espace nordique displayed a provider notice that live viewing returns next winter, so it is marked seasonal and offline. The summit page loaded its live player. Each video request goes directly to Vision-Environnement; the provider can see the viewer’s IP address. These player pages are kept separate from the HLS catalogue count.

## Privacy and provider behavior

The catalogue uses stream URLs directly, so the wallpaper player does not need to load OpenCCTV’s page, consent banner, ads, or analytics. The stream provider still receives the connection and can see the connecting IP address.

The Dubrovnik and Tisno streams are IPCamLive. Their stream URLs can rotate; use the `resolver_url` to get a current URL before playback. IPCamLive’s documentation notes that direct HLS playback does not run the provider player’s viewer-registration and stream-management functions. Check the provider’s terms before leaving these streams running unattended: https://www.ipcamlive.com/resources/api/IPCamLiveAPIv2.pdf
